Last Saturday, Christine and me got married.

The day started out cold, windy and overcast, the weather in the days leading upto the wedding in Melbourne had been wet and horrible. we were having an outdoors wedding, with no real shelter in the gardens.

breaking with tradition, Christine and myself had organised a serviced apartmrnt and spent saturday morning with me cooking her bacon and eggs and waiting for the rest of the day.

At around 9am, chrisintes parents arrived and her mum took her off for a haircut. I was on food duty with her father, and we all headed off to do the jobs we had to do..

we had organised a selection of cakes from a shop in chapel st, and karl and myself arrived to discover, the car was much to small for all the cakes. in a panic, we were not sure what we would do, until the nice man who owned the shop offered to drop them at the gardens/park at midday..

back to the flat for me, time to get ready a quick shower and a shave and i was set for the event, I had a black suite with a very fine grey pinstripe (thats kind of hard to explain) and a cream coloured shirt, the colour matched chrisitnes dress.

when we arrived ta the gardens, it was still overcast, not looking like rain, but not the best of days,

we set up the drinks/tables and food, and got ourselves ready for the big entry,

by 1pm, the sun had come out, not a cloud in the sky, the day had turned into a wonderful sunny warm bright Melbourne afternoon.

Christine arrived and her parents both walked her into the gardens. the rest is a bit of a blur..

i should add, my friend kate, has twin girls, Zoe and Isabella. They played a very important role in the ceremony, they helped deliver up the rings for us. thank you girls, we really appreciated it.

20 mins later, we were husband and wife..

the rest of the afternoon, we spent in the gardens with friends and family, having cakes and treats, champagne and juice.

i even had time to kick a soccer ball around. It was a nice day, in fact, it was the best day of my life. (and a lovely start to the rest of our lives) really helped make the previous weeks trials seem less..

Saturday night, the family and some friends headed out for a fancy dinner to help celebrate, we went to sails by the bay in Elwood.

it was very nice, and im sure ill pass on more info, when I get a chance..

im now sitting on the banks of the Murray river in a place called Morgan, its in sa, and its very nice, today we did NOTHING,, slept and read books as the river passed us by,

tomorrow, we head further east, driving back to work, driving towards the rest of our lives.

thank you Christine, i love you. 🙂
